This course introduces students to the practices and histories of contemporary photography to create compelling photographic images, series, and narratives. Students will learn how to use digital SLRs, Adobe Bridge and Photoshop to edit and display their artwork. The class starts with basic design and composition principles for photography and ends asking students to create a book worthy final project. This course is about learning how to see, think, and converse visually.

This course is held entirely online and most of the coursework can be done on your own schedule as long as project deadlines are met. We may use many different formats for communicating, including: video conferencing (Zoom), Microsoft Teams, Instagram, and/or Facebook.
