This course introduces the vocabulary, abbreviations, and symbols used in the language of medicine. Emphasis is placed on building medical terms using prefixes, suffixes, and root words. This course is intended to fulfill the Medical Terminology prerequisite course requirement for Physician Assistant, Nursing, Physical or Occupational Therapy, Athletic Training, and Chiropractic Medicine professional programs. Priority will be given to students in these career tracks if needed.
