Special Topics course: Principles of Historic Preservation. Principles of Historic Preservation follows a seminar format presenting key themes related to historic preservation, cultural resource management, and public history. Grassroots efforts to preserve places of historical and cultural importance are examined through the lens of heritage stewardship. Students consider local, state, and federal regulations related to preservation action, what makes old places "historic", and how archaeological sites and historic structures are evaluated.
