This course will explore principles of bioinorganic chemistry using examples relevant to human health. Using a mix of primary and secondary sources, we will consider the roles of naturally occurring metals in the human body, the activity of metal-based pharmaceuticals, and the mechanisms of toxicity of environmental metal exposure. Prerequisite: CH-222 or CH-312.
