First-Year Composition: Teamwork Makes the Dream Work. Cliche sayings aside, as social beings we are a part of a team in many contexts: within the athletic realm, of course, but also within our families, our work groups, our friendship circles, and beyond. In this section of FYC, we will consider what makes up a team and how to support our teammates and become our best selves through this community. We will consider, explore, and experiment with concepts such as understanding ourselves, managing conflict, growing our sense of empathy, and communicating with and motivating others.
