Home: Looking Back at Where We're From. What happens to us when we leave home? How does our relationship to it change over the years? Why is it that we can be simultaneously so critical of the places we're from and yet so defensive when other people talk about them? From ancient myth to contemporary stories of migration and relocation, the idea of home is a potent force in our lives and self-conceptions. This FYC section will use film, fiction, music, and memoir to examine how the many aspects of home - culture, family, the land, the political and economic context - shape who we are.
