This section of First-Year Seminar is organized around the concept of play and the many ways it permeates our lives. Some of the topics we will explore in this seminar include the relation between play and education -- play as vicarious experience, competitive play, fandom, the ludic dimensions of conflict and wellness, wordplay, experimental narratives, videogames, and artificial intelligence.
