Can We Disagree Agreeably? This course examines how individuals with diverging points of view are able to constructively engage with empathy and civility. Exploring dialogic models that contribute to understanding of individual discernment, interpersonal communication, and information efficacy and literacy, class members will seek to gain better personal and collective understanding of issues that matter. A culminating event in the class will be facilitation and support of a campuswide debate around a challenging current issue that respectfully engages participants, promotes civil discourse, and fosters ideological diversity.
