In this seminar we will explore various fictional worlds and communities to examine how each may be considered dystopic and, furthermore, what defines the genre of dystopian fiction and film. Through various reading, films, and approaches this class will introduce a variety of "lenses" through which to consider these worlds and their construction, as well as how those living within are affected.
